Baby Shower

I think I should write this up while the details are still fresh in my mind :) I must say we have been incredibly blessed by friends and family. Starting from planning the shower to organizing it to getting gifts to being there at the actual event, there were so many people involved and mere words are not going to do justice to thanking them.

At the nascent stages, I was approached by Malini. At first, I got a call from Atul with a message from her. Then forced by Mona for the most part, Prachi and I made a baby registry. We overcame our earlier reservations to include lots of things in the registry. The first gift of course arrived from PJ who ordered it the day we made the registry. I sent the link to the registry to Malini and Tanu around the 20th of July. Meanwhile, Lis contacted me also about exploring the possibility of organizing a shower.

There were issues in setting the date. Of course, one date was not going to work for everyone. I also wanted to have mama-mami, etc. come. But in the end, we settled on August 14. Mama, mami, etc. wouldn't be able to make it, but we thought lots of people would be able to come. The date was especially good because Bhuvan was arriving on August 12, and so he would be there in time. Once the date was settled, this got the ball rolling.

I haven't completed this in a long time...but may be I will post it now!

He is here !!

I don't believe it. Bhuvan came here yesterday! His flight was coming around 2 PM. A check of various flight tracking websites revealed nothing about when exactly he would land as they had inconsistent ETAs. In any case, I left around 1:45. As soon as I got to 95, the traffic was a big mess, and on top of it, the rain started coming down. I braved it and reached the airport around 2:30. I parked, and ran up to the arrival hall bracing myself for the wait. But to my big surprise, he was already there trying to call me to find out my whereabouts. Well, we got all his stuff in the car, and started driving back, chatting away. During the drive, it really started pouring!!!! Well, we arrived at the campus, picked Prachi and went home. The weather demanded making of chai and pakoras, and so that is what we did. Eric and Lis had to cancel their visit because of the storm. But we had a great evening. We ate, saw pictures, saw Maine Pyaar Kiya, chatted, and what not! Talked home in the evening after dinner. But it felt really good to see him after that long, and we could connect right away :)

Bhuvan comes tomorrow

I can't believe it that the day is finally here. I have waited for this day for a long time. Can't believe I will be meeting him after two long years. He arrives at 2 PM in Philly.

Prachi is going to be completing 32 weeks of her pregnancy soon. The little one is going to be here in 8 weeks although you never know what the exact day is going to be. But certainly the time is nigh. Praise God it has been a reasonably smooth ride except for the little stress of controlling her diet. This has really made me realize how awesome the whole creation thing is. I can't believe God gives us the power to create a new life (with lots of help from Him, ofcourse)

I am also very excited to be in our new place. Thankfully, the move was painless with lots of help from friends. The unpacking went pretty well too. Nothing broke !! The deck on the back is just a dream with cool breeze and a view of apple orchards.

Met Kausik today in the morning, but what really clicked was when Prachi went with me to see him. I think we have been able to soothe all his anxieties.
