Party party

This weekend was really hectic with parties on both the days!

First it was Prapti's 2nd bday party on Saturday. She has become really cute now, and says all kinds of things, copying things from Prarthna such as "Gussa kyon ho sahabjee" and making up her own! The character Bonnie that she made herself refuses to go away even if we have tried to banish her saying that she has gone to the forest. Today the weather was spectacular and since Prachi was tutoring, I took the kids to the office and before going in, we decided to take a walk in the forest where the old church is. As I and Prarthna was talking about it, Prapti chipped in with "Bonnie jungle main gayi".

Back to the party, Prachi cooked a storm with naan, raita, salad, alu, daal makhani, and malai kofta. She made an incredible princess cake again. There were about 35 people including the kids, and they all seemed to have a good time! It was Shivi's 1st birthday today and that is always a milestone for the parents. Shivi is Swatantra and Vidhi's only daughter and they had a nice celebration at Nestunhallen. The weather was very nice today, getting up to 16 C amazingly.

Tomorrow I am off to Germany for 3 days. It has been quite relaxed this year so far w.r.t. travel, and this is only my 2nd overnight trip of 2011. The two other trips to London have only been day trips.

The title is ours!!

Finally, India became World Champion again in Cricket after a gap of a generation - I was 6 years old when it last happened in 1983, now I have a 6 year old daughter! The cup of joy indeed spilled over, and it was of course incredible to say the match on Norwegian National TV!

Prapti also had her birthday party, but there were so few kids (most did not come probably due to the weather) that I could still watch a bit of cricket. The party went well anyhow, and everyone got a lot of attention. Prachi made a wonderful Cindrella cake, and of course the other things. Once the party was over, we sat together to finish the match and then went over to Neha and Praveen for the "after match party"

Sunday was a normal day with some driving practice for Prachi, looking at a house (just for the heck of it) and tennis.

I took the kids to fysak and then my office and Prapti had the dialogues of the weekend there. She had slept on the way, and as soon as I said to Prarthna that she had slept, she work up, and said "Main uth gayi" and then proceeded to say "Main dost hun" and "Main king hun". She is so much fun now, so naughty. She also said to Prarthna when she was calling her "aa rahi hun, rona shuru karna mat"

They have also started to sleep together in the same bed since a couple days (at least for a little while) although today it only lasted a few minutes.

Fun to see them growing up together!!

Today was a normal week day, and my new colleague Djurre's first full day. Prachi went to aerobics, and I went to badminton after work.

The big day...

Today, our little princess has become 3 years old! We so wanted her to be born in March, and not on April fool's day and almost got our wish when we went to the hospital on 31st March in the morning, but madam was stubborn and did not come out before 3:03 AM! Can't believe that it was 3 years ago...

Had a good day today, Prachi had packed up Prapti's gifts yesterday (she has been home since she has had some eye infection that seems to be getting better now). When she woke up, she got kisses and all the presents, that she was extremely excited about. Then we quickly got ready and went to school, office, etc. Prachi had baked a very nice cake that Prapti wanted to eat then and there. She did not want to give it to the personnel in her day care. They had a very nice celebration for her in the kindergarten (I am yet to see the pics) and the cake was very popular.

We came home and Prachi made halwa, we did pooja and ate halwa with golgappe! A real feast....Now it is preparing for the party tomorrow...

Had a new colleague start today at work, and another potential one was at the interview.

And of course tomorrow is the big game, the World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka!

The day after...

The day after India won their much awaited, super hyped semi-final against Pakistan...I could even feel the pressure, the tension in far-off Norway. Unbelievably so, this game was shown live on the national TV in Norway, yes Norway (First time ever I heard the commentary in Norwegian). Even if the match was scratchy, it sort of lived up to the expectations. In the end, India won comfortably but it could have gone either way. Indian batting was not so good (imagine what could have happened had Tendulkar not got so many lives?) but the bowling and fielding were great. Let us hope we carry out the form in the final and lift the trophy for 1 billion plus Indians!

I had to miss a part of the match since Prarthna had a show at school. Grade 1 through 5 had put together a play "Goldilocks and the three bears". Real amazing performance. Very well done!

Now it is awaiting Prapti's birthday tomorrow (on April Fool's day)...cannot believe 3 years have passed....
